Positive Songs for Negative People
The title of Frank Turners 2015 I like the album that has just been released so much that I made it the topic of the new OHRENOEFFNER.

It doesn't matter whether you see yourself as an optimist or a pessimist. - In the current situation, and I mean that from a global perspective - that is, humanly (!), We need a lot (solidarity, mindfulness and love of truth) and some less (fear, Authority and attempts to divide) - but what perhaps each of us can use at the moment is positive music.
Something that helps us through the day or at the end of the day Day forgiving is true. Something that gives us the deep trust that everything will be fine in the end. Sure, that's the essence of music and but there are artists / albums / songs that obviously can do that.

Now, of course, you could say: Okay, then from now on we will only hear Mozart. and yes, that's right - practically everything from Mozart is so fundamentally uplifting, positive and general human filled with love that you don't really need anything else ...

In the OHRENOEFFNER we are, apart from Mozart, yes, yes overwhelmingly
with Contemporary music and there is always one or the other in the sense of "Positive Song for Negative People" - and at the same time there should always be something new to discover. Let's get started.

ten songs are short stories of outsiders, of being abandoned and of new beginnings. Sometimes it's folk numbers leaning back like "Saturday", sometimes middle class rockers with Motown influences ("Why won't you tell me what").
Josh Rouse - Nashville
Josh Rouse? Exactly - hence "New Friends".
The album "Nashville" has been out for a while, more precisely from 2005 - but, since hardly anyone knows Josh Rouse, it fits in well here.
Succeeds on this small, light album For him, which rarely happens: namely, to bring songwriting, arrangement and sound together in such a way that the songs already feel familiar the first time you hear them - but by no means in the sense of plagiarism, but independent and with real recognition value.
"Don't talk about cities
There are cities with which one automatically associates something. Especially if you've never been there yourself. So San Francisco is the eternal hippie city, Seattle is the home of grunge and Nashville is this relaxed southern metropolis, where you sit with a whiskey on the veranda of your house and play your neighbors a little on the acoustic guitar. The Elected - Sun, Sun, Sun

Pat Metheny Group - TRAVELS
To write in some detail about the "Pat Metheny Group" would fill a newsletter of its own - let alone about Pat Metheny himself.
He is one of the influential jazz musicians, 20th century and too the
few exceptional artists who cannot be classified are unbelievable.
Musicians who, on the one hand, absorb an almost inexhaustible range of musical influences, integrate them into their own musical language and which you can immediately after two bars recognized, you can count on one hand. You notice, I get into raptures ...;-)
The album "TRAVELS", 198 3 appeared ,
belongs to the series of the greatest live recordings one can hear (also immediately received a Grammy for "Best Jazz Fusion Performance").

Overwhelming success
There is hardly a band that - and the expression must be allowed - puked itself so emotionally on a record as Fleetwood Mac did with RUMORS. And that's exactly what makes this album a milestone - both for the band and for the music world. No gap fillers. Melodies that "sit down" straight away. Arrangements that look opulent thanks to the crisp drums, but are basically chosen extremely economically. - Rumors (and "rumors" translates as "rumors"!) About the well-being of the band ensure phenomenal numbers for pre-orders.
When the LP came out in 1977, it was almost like a dam broke. Record sales everywhere. Up to Michael Jackson's "Thriller", Rumors is considered to be the most commercially successful album of all time. - In the years and decades after this success there have been repeated dissolution phenomena at Fleetwood Mac - but also reunions again and again.
